The Importance of Gut Health in Your Pets

#guthealth #guthealing #happygut #microbiome #probiotic #healthypetfood #holisticvet

Food is the foundation for health. We preach this at The Natural Pet Doctor. If we are feeding poor quality food to our pets, their health will suffer. You may get lucky and they never develop disease, but over 60% of pets will develop cancer at some point in their life. For me personally this risk is too high to feed a poor diet, especially since our family has had three of our pets develop cancer with optimal diets.

There are many factors that affect our pet's gut health, ranging from food to environment. Toxins in our environment will adversely affect the immune system. This indirectly affects the microbiome in the GI tract. Research is being published more and more about how our pet's microbiome is essential for their immune health. When we take care of their microbiome, their immune system is stronger, which means they have less disease and our stronger health-wise.

Make sure you watch this short video on how we can optimize our pet's microbiome, which will lead to better health for our pets.

In this video, you will learn about:

  • The importance of the microbiome

  • How gut health affects your pet's overall health

  • How poor gut health can lead to diseases like giardia, anxiety and many others

  • What leaky gut means and what can cause it

  • Why probiotics are important
